Join us as we read Chain-Gang All-Stars by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah. Welcome to Chain-Gang All-Stars, the popular and highly controversial program inside America's private prison system. In packed arenas, live-streamed by millions, prisoners compete as gladiators for the ultimate prize: their freedom. This novel explores critiques of the carceral system, capitalist society, and the commodification of human suffering. Our book club is a safe space for all to attend; you don't need to finish the book to join the discussion. We hope to see you there! Supporting the Fort Worth Public Library or local bookstores when getting a copy of the book is encouraged.

We’ll be meeting on the last Saturday of each month, with discussions led by rotating PPGT Community Board members. It’s a chance to connect, reflect, and build community together. Jesus and John Wayne is a sweeping account of the last seventy-five years of white evangelicalism, showing how American evangelicals have worked for decades to replace the Jesus of the Gospels with an idol of rugged masculinity and Christian nationalism.

Reproductive Health 101 with PPGT in Austin February 28, 2026 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM South Austin Health Center, 201 E Ben White Blvd, Austin, TX 78704 Join YWCA Greater Austin and Planned Parenthood for an engaging event covering topics such as the reproductive systems and menstrual cycle, contraceptive methods, reproductive justice, and the connection between mental and reproductive health. Attendees will also enjoy an affirmation station activity, snacks, and goodie bags. This event is for ages 15+, and participants should bring an ID or a document showing proof of address in Travis County, as required by YWCA's reproductive health grant. However, no one will be turned away for lack of or refusal to provide ID or proof of address.
