Being Black in a Repro Space Education June 1, 2024 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM CT The purpose of this event is to host a conversation with the Black Austin community discussing what being Black in a Repro Space is like, and about historical mistreatment of Black women (Black maternal Health). The goal is to host a space open to all in discussing how our community can help denounce the stigmas that arise in our communities. We will be providing free resources as well as information for upcoming Planned Parenthood Texas Votes events in Texas.

May BFBC - I'm Telling the Truth, But I'm Lying Meeting June 5, 2024 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM CT Our Black Feminist Book Club is back for another great read in May, this time recognizing Mental Health Awareness Month with Bassey Ipki's I'm Telling the Truth, But I'm Lying. Ranging her experiences living with bipolar II and anxiety while being a Nigerian-American immigrant, this collection of essays told in Ipki's unique blend of memoir, poetry, and lyricism provides a deep look into dealing with mental health in today's society.
