2026 Day of Action

Day of Action

Wednesday, February 25

All Day, Albany

The power to shape our future is in our hands—and it's time we seize it. As our country slips backwards, threatening decades of hard-fought progress, we cannot stand by. We are the force that will push back.

New York must take action to ensure our rights and freedoms are protected and that everyone can access the care they need to control their bodies, lives, and futures. Join us at Planned Parenthood's annual Day of Action where hundreds of advocates from across New York will come to Albany to push our elected officials to fund care and protect reproductive freedom.

This isn't just a chance to show up—it's an opportunity to fight back. We'll roll up our sleeves, meet face-to-face with lawmakers, and demand they act. New York can't just hold the line when so much is at stake. We need to be the force that moves our country forward. Our time is now!

No Freedom Without Access

Letter Writing:

Fund Care. Protect Reproductive Freedom.

Saturday, January 31

2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., Riverhead

Funding for sexual and reproductive health care has been strained, even before a wave of anti-abortion politicians were elected last November. Now, we've entered an unsettling, much more difficult era for sexual and reproductive health care. The calls to strip Planned Parenthood of the funds we rely on have already begun. But we won't sit back as anti-abortion lawmakers and activists try to take away our rights and our access to care. We're advocating for our lawmakers in Albany to ensure Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic, New York's Planned Parenthood affiliates, and other providers are supported for the fights ahead.

Please join us in Riverhead to write letters to our elected officials telling them that Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic's work is essential to this community, and that access sexual and reproductive health care is worth supporting across our state. We must fund sexual and reproductive health care providers in our state budget this year.

We want you to tell us what is impacting your community and what you would like to see from Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic this year.

Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic (PPHP) knows that our activists and supporters are not a monolithic group. We are a diverse community, made up of all identities, experiences, and lives -- all of which impact our individual support for reproductive health and rights as well as the needs and issues facing our communities. PPHP is proactively taking steps to better understand our activists and their communities.

Community Events Corner

New York Health Act Webinar | Tuesday, January 13, 7:00 p.m. | Worried about cuts to Medicaid and increases to insurance premiums? While the federal government is cutting back our healthcare coverage, New York can provide for its own by passing the New York Health Act, a universal healthcare bill that would guarantee high quality, comprehensive healthcare for all New Yorkers. Our current healthcare system is failing us. New Yorkers pay the second highest costs for premiums in the country and rank in the bottom half of states for healthcare access and outcomes.

Compassion and Reproductive Equity (CARE) Act Advocacy Day | Tuesday, January 27 | Join us in Albany for the CARE Coalition's first Advocacy Day of 2026! We'll urge the NYS Legislature to pass the Compassion and Reproductive Equity (CARE) Act (S4583a/A4879a) which ensures compassion and reproductive equity for pregnant and birthing people, mothers and babies behind bars, including establishment of prison and jail nurseries to keep moms and babies together.

Share Your Story

Every Planned Parenthood supporter and patient advocate has a story to tell as to why they support access to sexual and reproductive health care. Stories humanize our work to show Planned Parenthood's commitment to the health and wellness of the people and communities we serve through our health care services, education programs, and fearless advocacy. With sexual and reproductive health care under constant attack, it is essential that we share as many stories as possible to raise awareness and engage more people in our movement.
