I'm For Planned Parenthood

I'm for Planned Parenthood

Last week, the Supreme Court ruled against the rights of patients in South Carolina who rely on Medicaid to choose their own health care provider. Medicaid patients may no longer be able to go to Planned Parenthood health centers in South Carolina for birth control, preventive check-ups, cancer screenings, and STI testing and treatment.

While the SCOTUS ruling opens the door to similar attacks on other states, Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic patients with Medicaid can still come to us for care. The ruling does not impact Medicaid in NY.

Even so, we do not exist in a vacuum. These attacks will have nationwide consequences on sexual and reproductive health care access. Because of “defunding” efforts in states and in Congress, more than a million people are at risk of losing access to quality, affordable care.

Everyone should have the freedom to decide what health care is best for them, not the government. Tell your Congressional Representative that you're for Planned Parenthood today!

How Stigma Impacts Policy: HIV

Wednesday, July 9, 6:00 - 6:45 p.m.

Virtual

Join us for a discussion about the impact of stigma on health care policy and access. How we talk about our sexual, physical, and mental health is important, because honest conversations lead to healthier, happier communities.

While new HIV diagnoses have declined significantly from their peak, progress on further reducing them has stalled. Without intervention nearly 400,000 more Americans will be newly diagnosed over 10 years despite the availability of tools to prevent transmissions.

In this interactive training, we'll have an honest conversation about how stigma impacts our lives and learn how to talk about HIV so that more people become comfortable knowing and sharing their status.
