Planned Parenthood

February 2023

January was a busy month for taking action! We are so thankful for all of the Activists who joined us for Rise Up for Repro Rights and Day of Action! On January 24, while our activists were in Albany, the Equal Rights Amendment passed the Assembly and the Senate for the second time. This was a huge win!

Check back on the Monthly Activist Calendar page throughout the month. More events and actions will be added.

Storytelling Training

February 20, 2023, Virtual

6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

We are called to fight for sexual and reproductive health care and rights for a reason. Perhaps you've used Planned Parenthood, maybe you had great (or not so great) sex education that impacted your life or the lives of the people you care about, or you've recently learned how at-risk access to care really is. In order fight for sexual and reproductive health care, we must talk to others about why we care about reproductive freedom in a way that connects with them and spurs them to action.

If you can answer the question "Why do I care about reproductive freedom?", you have a story to tell!

Come learn how to tell your story about why you care about sexual and reproductive health care and rights!

Let's Talk About Sex (Ed)

Apply for the Community Action Council!

PPHP is looking for 10-14 community members who are excited and committed to educating their community and taking action to support comprehensive sex education. In New York, the only requirement of school districts is to teach HIV/AIDS prevention education - where only condoms are discussed, and abstinence must be stressed. A young person's access to high-quality, inclusive, comprehensive sex education is dependent on where they live and what school they attend.

All young people deserve comprehensive, inclusive, medically accurate sex education in order for them to have the information and tools needed to take control of their bodies and their futures.

Applications are due February 15, 2023.
