Heightened Scrutiny Film Screening

Multiple dates and Locations

Come join us for a screening of Heightened Scrutiny (2025).

"Heightened Scrutiny follows Chase Strangio, ACLU attorney and the first out trans person to argue before the Supreme Court, as he fights a high-stakes legal battle to overturn Tennessee's ban on gender-affirming care for transgender youth (United States v. Skrmetti).

The film exposes the dangerous role of mainstream media in fueling anti-trans legislation, uncovering how biased coverage drives hate, endangers lives, and threatens democracy itself. With insights from journalists like Jelani Cobb, Lydia Polgreen, and Gina Chua, and activists like Laverne Cox, the story dismantles anti-trans disinformation and highlights its devastating real-world impact.

With the dangerous SCOTUS decision upholding the ban on life-saving healthcare, Heightened Scrutiny is an urgent call to action against bigotry and injustice."

Preconceived Film Screening

Wednesday, November 12

6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., Stony Point

Come join us for a screening of Preconceived (2024), a documentary focused on the rise of crisis pregnancy centers and the barriers to accessible reproductive health care they create.

Where does someone turn when facing an unplanned pregnancy? Preconceived is a raw and insightful look into the rise of the enigmatic crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs) pervading America. Shedding light on how many of these centers are a part of a movement striving to make abortion unthinkable and illegal, the documentary explores the complex role of deception, finances, faith, and privacy.

Me Period Film Screening

Saturday, November 22

2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., Shirley

Join the Women's Diversity Network, Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic, and the YWCA of White Plains & Central Westchester for a film on puberty, menstruation, and health discovery: the conversations we’ve always needed.

The journey often starts with the first period, but the way in which we come to know ourselves and our bodies begins with every conversation we’ve had, or haven’t had, before then.

Through the eyes of everyday families and celebrity mothers like Sheryl Lee Ralph and Tabitha Brown, Me Period explores the beauty and complexity of how we navigate sensitive conversations about our bodies and our periods.

Destigmatizing Abortion Training

Destigmatizing Abortion Through Language

Tuesday, November 18

6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., Virtual

Join Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic virtually on Tuesday, November 18 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. for a training on how each of us can help destigmatize abortion through our language.

Having an abortion is common. Nearly one in four American women have an abortion by the time they're 45. So why can it be so hard to talk about?

In this training, we'll have an honest discussion about how abortion stigma impacts lives and learn strategies to talk about abortion that help chip away at the stigma around this fundamental right.

Share Your Story

Every Planned Parenthood supporter and patient advocate has a story to tell as to why they support access to sexual and reproductive health care. Stories humanize our work to show Planned Parenthood's commitment to the health and wellness of the people and communities we serve through our health care services, education programs, and fearless advocacy. With sexual and reproductive health care under constant attack, it is essential that we share as many stories as possible to raise awareness and engage more people in our movement.
