In this training, you will learn more about the current abortion access landscape, how to volunteer with PPFA's National Volunteer Program, how to find local Planned Parenthood volunteer opportunities, actions you can take, and how to advocate for abortion access and destigmatize abortion. Doing Our Part: Black Maternal Health & Abortion Access April 12, 2023 1:00 PM - 2:15 PM Join the Black Organizing Program, Government Relations and Strategic Partnerships as we come together to highlight Black Maternal Health Week 2023. During the webinar, we will discuss the critical importance of access to the full spectrum of health care, including abortion access for Black people, including Black mothers and Black people of childbearing age as well as encourage deeper conversation and thinking about ways to incorporate the RJ framework and working alongside these organizations to advance reproductive rights and justice. We will pay homage to reproductive justice organizations and highlight their calls to action for Black Maternal Health Week 2023.

Racial Disparities in Black Maternal Health April 12, 2023 7:00 PM - 8:45 PM Join Planned Parenthood's National Volunteer Program on Wednesday, April 12th from 7:00-8:45 p.m. ET in honor of Black Maternal Health Week for a teach-in to discuss the role of systemic racism and bias within the healthcare system. According to the latest data from the CDC, Black women are 3 times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes compared to white women. These outcomes are the result of bias of medical providers, structural racism, and economic inequality. Join us to to learn about how racial bias shows up in the healthcare system, and actions you can take. Closed captioning will be available.

Destigmatize Abortion Teach-In April 17, 2023 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM Join Planned Parenthood Federation of America's National Volunteer Program for the 'Destigmatize Abortion Teach-In" on Monday, April 17th at 7:30 PM EST. National Social Media Team Training April 18, 2023 7:00 PM - 8:15 PM Join us on April 18th from 7- 8:15 PM ET for our National Social Media Team Training. This call will provide training and information on how to take action using social media! In this training you will receive an overview about effective online messaging to address abortion access and sexual and reproductive health issues, tips for cybersecurity, amplify key issues online, and receive resources to use to create social media content. This will be a virtual training and closed captioning will be available.

History of Planned Parenthood + Racial Justice Teach-In April 20, 2023 8:00 PM - 9:30 PM Join Planned Parenthood's National Volunteer Program on Thursday, April 20th from 8:00-9:30 p.m. ET for a teach-in to discuss Planned Parenthood’s history with racial justice, including areas where Planned Parenthood is reckoning with its past and present. Participants will learn tools and resources to support having conversations with colleagues, supporters and the public about Planned Parenthood's history through a racial justice lens. Join us to honor and celebrate the Black women of the reproductive justice movement, to uplift their voices, to learn about Planned Parenthood’s history, and to confront the racism and discrimination so that we can build the most equitable future possible.
