Elaine Chapnick

Elaine Chapnick was for many years the Deputy Managing Director of Communications at the American Lung Association. Earlier, she was Director of Special Projects at Newsweek Broadcasting, Executive Director of the NY Council on Children’s Television, and an English teacher at Horace Greeley High School, in Chappaqua, New York.

 

A resident of Larchmont, she is currently President of the Larchmont/Mamaroneck Local Summit. She was a founding member of the Community Resource Center and was a negotiator of the cable TV contract that established LMC-TV. Her volunteer work has also included service on the boards of the Larchmont League of Women Voters, the Emelin Theatre, the Center for Continuing Education, the School Board Selection Committee, Larchmont Temple, and the PPHP Galas.

 

A native of Kansas City, Missouri, she is a graduate of Barnard College where she was a member of the Board of Trustees. She also holds an M.A. in English from the University of Pennsylvania. Married to David Chapnick, a retired attorney, she has a son, a daughter, and three granddaughters.
