A new era

A new era

For years, we celebrated our right to safe and legal abortion with the annual Roe v. Wade Luncheon.

Now, we find ourselves in a new era. We are meeting this moment to spark hope, passion, and inspiration for the work that lies ahead.

Luncheon details

Join us on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 12 p.m. at Hilton Americas-Houston (1600 Lamar St.). Registration opens at 11 a.m.

Valet parking is available. Rideshare is encouraged.

The 2024 luncheon chairs are Lisa Coffin, Jocelyn Coffin, Amanda Gelb, and Sarah Gelb.

We will be honoring Sallie Morian. Keynote remarks by Kelley Robinson, president of the Human Rights Campaign.

About our keynote speaker

Kelley Robinson is the current president of the Human Rights Campaign and the first Black, Queer woman to lead the organization. Robinson — widely respected for her work over the last 15 years creating and leading winning campaigns and programs — came to HRC after serving as Executive Director of Planned Parenthood Action Fund. From community organizer to progressive leader, Robinson has been at the forefront in the fight for bodily autonomy and racial and gender equity, with a focus on lifting up marginalized communities and building political power.

First-ever official versus afterparty

This year, the party won't stop after the luncheon: Join us from 2-5 p.m. at Angel Share HTX (924 Congress St.) to keep the celebration going!

The afterparty is an opportunity to extend the spirit of giving, providing extra time and space for meaningful connections and celebration with like-minded supporters as we continue the fight to advance reproductive health and rights in our community. Luncheon tickets are not required to attend the afterparty, and we encourage you to invite your friends and colleagues to raise a glass with us.

v. stands for versus.

v. is a symbol of our unrelenting movement, our commitment to not only ensuring every individual’s right to manage their sexual and reproductive health, but to fight for justice, equity, and against oppression and discrimination. versus is a reminder that we must continue pushing forward for progress, and that we won’t allow our hopes to be denied. It is our inspiration for the work ahead. versus stands for who we are. Why we’re here. What we believe in. It’s what unites us and pushes us forward, together.

v. stands for versus. Until it stands for victory.

A thank you to Langrand

The new Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast luncheon theme, versus, was created by Langrand, an advertising and communications company based in Houston, Texas. Both the owner and managing director of the firm are alumnae of Planned Parenthood, and gladly volunteered the time and talent of the agency for a cause they truly believe in. We think you can see the heart and compassion they have for our mission in the video above and in this rebrand as a whole.
